Dr. Pratheesh P. Gopinath is Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Agricultural Statistics at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani. His work connects statistical methodology, R programming, agricultural biodiversity and applied AI.
With more than a decade of experience in R programming and data analysis, Dr. Gopinath develops practical statistical tools for agricultural and interdisciplinary research. His expertise includes experimental design, sampling, multivariate analysis, mixed models, R and Python, Shiny applications, machine learning and reproducible research.
He completed a Ph.D. in Agricultural Statistics in 2021 and an M.Sc. in Agricultural Statistics in 2014 at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. His doctoral work focused on statistical designs for factorial treatment structures. He has advised postgraduate and doctoral research and led national training programmes for researchers and scientists.
